I am an Egan descendant through my great-great-grandmother, Elinor Egan, whose father was Dr. Thomas Egan of Dublin and Galway. A few years ago, I visited the house at Dunblaney where Dr. Egan and his uncle, Archbishop Boetius Egan, were born. I would love to visit Redwood sometime. | |

Out of the blue I learnt last October that the kind lady referred to below as the caretaker of Redwood Castle-Maureen Kennedy was my natural mother back in 1959. I am trying to get to grips with this realisation and would love to hear from some of the other Kennedy's associated with this site. I attended a clan rally in Redwood Castle in 1986. I have instilled in me a pride of the Egan name from my Dad, John Egan of Swinford, Co. Mayo, and I hope to pass on that pride to my son. I am putting together my family tree in Irish Gathering, have a long way to go yet, but will get it done. Great to see this site. |

I was born in Seaforth, Liverpool, but moved out to Germany 30 years ago. I'm not sure but I think I heard as I was little that my great grandfather or great,great Grandfather came over from Irland at the end of the 1800's or start of the 1900's most of my family have gone now and there is no one I can ask from that side of the family. but I'm made up there is a castle from our family,cant wait to go over and have a look maybe next year.Thank you | |

Yes, Paddy's name is still over the door or was when we visited the grounds in AUG 2009.Frantastic revnovation of the property includes renewal of the original LEAD Sheet roof parts.
