I am a senior who recently found out my grandfather of Lissycasey, Clare, Ireland was half Egan. His mother was Bridget Egan. The Melicans came to the US and were a highly successful family with many lawyers and educators. Their success in these fields was always attributed to the Melican family, but the Egans certainly contributed too. The women's names are so often forgotten. I came across this site quite by accident while looking for information on the Rock of Cashel.

Good luck to all of you.

Hello my maiden name is Egan. Our family have traced the family tree back to 1595 starting with Boes Egan but then there is a gap til around 1550( taken from the dates on the website). Can you help me fill it between the two dates?

I found this site on the web while trying to trace my lineage. I know we immigrated from Ireland. Just trying to figure out how everything traces back. Looks like a beautiful castle. I hope to visit someday.

Regards,

Hi' I am Michael Kennedy son of John Kennedy we farmed around the castle in the 40 and the 50 before going to England in 1960. I loved it as a child playing around and in the castle as there was not much for a young lad to do in Redwood at that time.It is lovley to read the History about the Redwood Castle. Regards Michael Kennedy michael.a.kennedy@btinternet.com
